also don't forget to flash the BIOS to the latest version as it resolves some of the Overclocking FSB Wall issues

now....i have this icon in the system tray.

its a "safely remove hardware" icon for my harddrives, and optical drives

why is it there? and how do i get if off. its annoying.

That is a Windows XP glitch. Since SATA drives are specified to be hot-swappable, windows lists all SATA devices unless "safely remove hardware".
