OEM confusion

Since I'm getting the hard drives and DVD drives as OEM from newegg. I would really like to know more about OEM products. So I hear they don't come with any cables, manuals, boxes, just the product itself. Does this matter for hard drives or DVD drives since I can get all the cables from the PSU/mobo boxes right? Does any OEM products lack fans or something?

OEM is normally just the hardware, which includes a fan...for say a cpu.

OEM is fine for HDDs and DVD Drives as yeah you wont need manuals/cables etc.

jsut the cpu but since your getting an aftermarket one, no worries...oem is better for drives because its a little cheaper then retail

oem means just the product, which comes in handy when ur buying an aftermarket cooler for ur CPU, and it unnecessary to pay an extra 10$ for a box and a cooler ur not going to use
