Okay, now for my next RAID question. I am working on my first build and I bought an Asus A8N-SLi Premium motherboard.
This mobo supports 4 SATA HDDs on either the Silicon Image RAID driver (in RAID configuration), or through the NForce4 chipset.
I intend to RAID my two HDDs, but I have the option of connecting them to the Silicon Image "SATA_RAID" ports or the NForce4 "SATA" ports. I know I would have to configure the "SATA" ports in the bios under NVRAID so they would accept a RAID configuration, but I don't know what the difference is between the NVRAID and Sil3114.
Are the two identical? Would it matter at all which one I used to RAID my HDDs? If so, which is better?
Thanks in advance for your help.
