Default Nvidia vs. Radeon ??

I've been a long lasting fan of nvidia, I've never purchased an ati card
but I've been looking between these two cards

Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H290XT512DVN-R Radeon HD 2900XT 512MB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
or
Newegg.com - EVGA 640-P2-N825-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

It all boils down to Radeon 2900xt or Nvidia 8800gts
or maybe you should suggest a different card?

I saw some graphic quality/performance spreadsheets on gamespot.com and it seemed as if the 2900xt blows the 8800gts away

and maybe i'll make my nvidia chipset mobo angry if i put an ati card into it... haha just a thought

I dunno. compare the prices.

the 8800gt is like $260 right now, and will drop within the next month and a half.

Correct. It has more stream processors than the GTS, and it's SPs are clocked at the same speed as the Ultra's or GTXs.
