Actually, upon more reading, PCI-E 1.1 and 2.0 have the same number of lanes, just that the 2.0 has double bandwidth.

i know that, but i didnt know that it still sticks with 16 lanes.

in ur opinion, do u think that the 8800GT can beat the 8800GTS or GTX in some areas of benchmarking because it's PCI-E 2.0 on a PCI-E 2.0 compatible mobo?

no...but its great for the price

uh k wasnt asking u but alright.

if u think about it, it has double the bandwidth, shouldnt that change much for the card itself?

off topic:

oo u got the 2900 Pro, how is it? Did u OC it? I really want one, i plan on getting one once i have the money.

double the bandwidth should not make any difference really since PCI-E right now doesn't max out the bandwidth of current cards...

i'm not a big expert, but there's very very little difference between agp 4x and 8x, and from what i hear PCI-E 8x isn't much different than 4x or 16x
