Still HD2900XT is the best out of these in terms of shader operations. However, 8800 series have higher pixel fill rate and texture fill rate because they have more Raster Operators and Texture Units

Err, no it won't. And I should know; I've used a 7950 GT and now I'm using an 8800 GTS 320MB with my Athlon 64 X2 4600+

the difference is about 5,000 points in 3dmark05 (from about 9000 to 14000)

So no, you won't get the same fps with a 7600 GT.
