Default northbridge cooling

well lately my compts over heated as in the lil beeping sound comes on and im pretty sure its because the northbridge because i felt it after use and its quite hot im wondering if i can just stick this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103155
on top of my curret northbridge heat sink using arctic silver adheasive?

I am not sure why it would not work, and its cheap so.....

woa uhm, you want replace your heat pipe passive cooler with that .... little chipset fan? You might just need a little more air flowing into your case, what kind of case fans do you have? Have you cleaned the dust out recently?

you wanna stick that ontop of the other heatsink? i don't think you can do that.... i think you're gonna have to remove the original heatsink... not sure but you might be able to put just the fan on the heatsink.. since the fan has a heatsink w/ it.. like seperate them and put the fan on your heatsink that might work. just guessing tho.

i think just go with what Sui said.

did you overclock your comp?

i have 120mm front and 80mm side intake and 120mm rear exhaust im open for ideas i just dont want to take off the passive cooler, but it needs improvement any fan ideas for the current or something else??
