Northbridge Cooler?

Why would I ever need a North Bridge cooler, And what are they exactly for? Should I get a cooler for it, or is it a waste of money. I do more of gaming.

If you're not overclocking heavily, the NB cooler isn't needed. And if your NB temperatures are a little high, just mount a little 40-80mm fan on it.

The main reason to get a north bridge cooler is if you have an nvidia chipset board (650/680/780) and overclock. These suckers will fry an egg.
