Default noob with some EIDE/ATA questions

Ill be building a computer pretty soon and i just had some questions about this mobo.

It says it supports 4 IDE devices. Hard drive types ATA-133. Is ATA backward compatible? (I have an ATA-100 hard drive I want to use as an extra disk).

Also...the cd-rom drives go through EIDE correct??
