for me personally, i don't mind spending a lot more money on anything, just as long as i see that the increase was well worth it. it seems that you only see a performance increase is when you get the fsb too like 500-600 which would actually be very beneficial on the new q9 series, but other then that, i don't really see a reason to shell out big bucks for minimal performance gain when you can shell out a reasonable amount of money and have all the performance you need.

granted, if you get a q9 series and want to see really good performance gains from oc'ing it, then you are going to need a board that can hit the 500-600 fsb range, cause the multi is so low on them.

My 2x1gb OCZ Titanium memory that Nosboost got from me cost me 280 new from the egg...

And I dropped 320 for the e6600 right when it came out, still going strong.

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

That is not too outrageous... I would actually buy it if i was in the market.
