hi.. im just a newbie here in this forum. im planning to build a new rig sometime this early july. but it would be my first time to build a rig, so i need some help in choosing the right parts..
first, im not really a hard core gamer. i could say im just a medium gamer. so i dont need a high end graphics card. also, i want my pc to be a bit good in multitasking. but im not into extreme video editing or the likes. a medium-gaming and a medium-multitasking pc is what i want.
================================================
here are the parts that i have chosen:
mobo: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard
proc: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 2000MHz HT Socket 939 Processor
ram: CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory (is it better if get OCZ becoz its better in OCing?)
harddrive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 SATA NCQ 3Gb/s 160GB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
graphics: eVGA Geforce 6800XT 256-P2-N381-TX Video Card (ive seen a lot of members here who has 6800GS(one of them is STATIC), but i cant find any 6800GS in newegg. and whats the diff between GS, GT, and XT)
dvdrom: NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Black IDE/ATAPI (is it better if i get a SATA 300 dvdrom rather than IDE)
keyboard/mice: Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110 Black RF Wireless Keyboard
case: im not into expensive ones, any good looking case will do
PSU: i dont have any idea on what to get
OS: Windows XP Pro x64 SP1 and soon to be windows vista if ever they release it soon
================================================
well, that's basically the specs of my future pc. if there are incompatibilities with the parts, or there are better parts out there which has the same price range (ex. GPU), kindly tell me.
thats it tech-forumers.. i hope to hear from you soon..
and oh, i dont know much about OCing... if ever ill OC, are my parts good enough? whats the advantage and disadvantage of OCing? will OCing cost you more money (due to additional coolers, etc.)?
