OK - since you guys helped build me 2 gaming PC's This should be a breeze.

Still using single core Pentium with XP at work and they are finally not doing the job anymore. The work software just finally finished making the software work with Win7 - 32 bit only. The PC's will be networked and each will be running basic email functions, Quickbooks Pro, my business software which is not any more processor intensive than Quickbooks. Microsoft Office, etc. NO gaming ...

So, I am thinking that a Dual core processor should be able to do the trick just fine and I am very price conscious. At this point I am thinking AMD ( due to price only) with a MOBO that will have the video build in. I already have RAM ( corsair dual channel 1600) , Hard drive ( 1TB Black) , CD player. I am stuck trying to figure out which CPU/MOBO to get. Price is a factor = no more that $175 for the CPU/MOBO together if possible - if not than I will spend more if necessary. Then can decide on case for either the ATX or the micro ATX MOBO. And then decide on what PSU to get.

Already have the 1TB drives , picked them up on sale for $69 each. Obviously no , not necessary- but I already have them , so might as well use them. I also will be using a PSU (OCZ 550 watt modular) out of an old gaming build so will only need one PSU= how about this= http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026.

So you think that combo of Intel CPU/MOBO is better/more stable/will last longer, than this AMD which is cheaper ?

I would not use either of those PSUs in a work computer. If they are going in an office environment I would get at least lower end Antec PSUs that are more reliable but still cheap.

Says that case is deactivated.

The only thing the AMD has over the Intel setup is a better GPU. The processing would come out to be better as the Pentium is a 3GHz Sandy Bridge processor. If time isn't that pressing sometime in Q1 next year Ivy Bridge Pentiums and Celerons will be released for super fast low end CPUs.
 
hmm.. I think I see you recommending Corsair PSU's regularly - although they are for gaming PC's and not work PC's. Also reviews on that PSU says it does not have proper SATA power as you need molex conversion ( what ever that means) and "the cords are too short" comment is found on several reviews. Are you saying that he Antec or Seasonic PSU's are more stable in a work environment?

I recommend the TX650 because their OEM is Seasonic and gaming PCs or higher end work stations need the more power. Corsair's cheaper PSUs the GS and CX series are made by somebody else (not sure off the top of my head) and are not as reliable or made with the same quality parts. Hence, cheaper. Seasonic and Antec actually make quality cheaper PSUs such as the one I linked. A 45 dollar 80+ Bronze certified PSU is exactly what you need in a work environment.

Look at the PSU pictures, there are clearly SATA connectors (the black ones) on the PSU I linked. People are just stupid and therefore I ignore every single Newegg review. If I want to know something about it I find it on a reputable site that gives a review.
 
That is why i am on this forum- truly knowledgeable people to get real advice from. Good enough on the PSU.

Cant wait till next year- trying to get all parts ready to assemble this month.

Ok, I have to weigh the extra cost of your suggested Intel CPU/mobo with a decrease in GPU power but an increase in CPU power over the cheaper AMD with better GPU , but decreased CPU power. Wont be doing any gaming on these, but maybe some video making commercials, reviewing other u-tube type videos,etc. . So, Chances are the GPU power differences wont make any difference. So I guess the question is, is the extra $$ spent worth the better CPU processing?

Onto picking cases- thinking a microATX case so it takes up less space and the PSU cords all reach.
 
The difference in price is simply the motherboard actually as both CPUs are the same price.

This board is the same price but I was just trying to stuff a tad more in for the budget with the Asus.

Edit: Proves my point on idiot Newegg reviews. Guys gives 3 eggs for a few things he should have thought about while purchasing, the board having a lot of features, and because he decided to install ALL of their bloatware. What a moron.

Want a micro case for cord lengths and for size - but cant find one without a PSU built in already and the ones that don't all seem to have the PSU mount on the top. I also like the power button location on the top as the rigs will be on the carpeted floor under desks.
