Windows 7 under advanced settings needs to be set to 56bit, user name access turned off, and a bunch of other things.

Basically for all said machines most all of Microsoft's built in crap network security needs to be turned off. Your sharing issues aren't just on W10 but also on 7 as the Homegroup **** was terrible. I've found for using one printer in a household of mixed machines having a wireless printer simply just works.

I guess I just got lucky then as I had no issues with my network of 3 win7 PC's sharing files and all printing on the 2 printers.

The biggest thing with Windows 10 is when you first hit the network it'll pop up on the right asking if you want that PC discoverable. You have to hit yes otherwise you'll be digging for settings to change.
