Default New Virtualization project

Please list your recommendations (vendors, part information, etc.) for the project below...

New project needs 6 Vmware Hosts. Each box will have 2 processors 6 core with 192 GBs of memory . Create a raid 5 set with an inline hot spare.

1.2GB of unusable SAS storage per box.

Vmware, Need all software associated for the 6 servers and management.
Each Host will support 20 VM's. Software and maintenance .
Need the server to reside in a Rack with PDU's Also need APC power to provide N + 1 power .

List all associated Microsoft licensing and Client access licenses.

This will be a Vmware Farm 6 hosts, 120 VM's

Storage exists VNX No Fibre needed. The handoff to the land is 1GB

Default Re: New Virtualization project

my company is specializing in designing server environments, especially DELL/HP. I'm sure I can design something for your needs.
it sounds like an R710 would be the way to go.
DELL PowerEdge R710
Dual E5645
12 x 16GB running in a tri-channel DDR3 technology
6 x 300GB 10k SAS in RAID 5. you will have 1.2TB usable storage, and 2 drives for RAID 5 and hot spare.
H700 - SAS 6Gbp/s raid controller - raid 0,1,5,6,10,50,60
Redundant power

you will need Windows server 2012 2CPU 2VM license that comes with 5 cals but also can come with 10 cals. you will need one for each server.

is that what you need to begin with?

If this is a project you are doing for school then I suggest you look this up instead of slacking off here. If this is an actual IT project and you are looking for help to set this up I would recommend finding an IT company in your area and getting assistance from them.

Seems you are in over your head.
