Nothing wrong with IDE CD drive unless you have an open case. The wires are just fat. If you're running XP you should only need 2GB of ram.

If I were you I'd take out 2GB of ram and the 8800GTX 640MB (around $400) and exchange it for a 8800GTX (around $500).

Why? If she goes with the GTS 320MB, that will leave enough money saved over, for an upgrade to the 9 series.

I decide to build my computer with this stuff

Pentium E6750
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3P
2 X 1 Gbyte DDR2 Twin2X 800MHz PC6400 corsair
Asus 320MB 8800 GTS
Western Digital SATA II 250GB
Case Centurion V
LG Black IDE CD-RW
Samsung Black IDE DVD-ROM
Windows Vista Home Premium
COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RP-550-PCAR ATX from factor 12V V2.01 550W Power Supply 110-115V/ 220-230V Nemko, TUV, cUL, CE, BSM, FCC, CCC - Retail

Thank you all for the information what u think?

No stuffing around with Jumpers with SATA is there?

That's looking good. But how come you changed the motherboard, from the DS3R to the DS3P. The only thing that the DS3P has over the DS3R, is an extra PCIe x16 slot, which isn't necessary. And it only supports Crossfire.

Even though that power supply is enough, I'd still suggest something with a little more kick. With the XClio GREATPOWER 550w.

For the memory, Corsair is good, but there are others that are better for the money. Like the Crucial Ballistix. Only $109.99 at newegg.

One other thing you might look into is the evga 8800 instead, as they offer the step up program if you decide you want more.
