Re: New system

If you get a 4870X2 you still have another slot so if you want to upgrade down the road you don't have to sell both GPU's you can just crossfire another 4870X2. The rumors about nothing being compatible with 64bit OS is wrong, I have been able to run everything fine on my 64 bit OS including Diablo I which is like 13 years old or something.

Re: New system

I would NEVER consider an HD 4870X2 CrossfireX... I'd say its highly overkill and you lose performance in most games....

I'd say the top to go would be an HD 4870X2 or even a HD 4870X2 with HD 4870

So any idea on how to get some aftermarket cooling for these video cards? Only after market cooling ive done is just to the cpu so not sure whats entailed in doing the video cards.

I think im going to see about picking up Thermalright HR-03-GT. Under load there cooler cuts the cards temps in half. And around 10celcius cooler at idle.
