New soundcard

Hello, I want to buy a new soundcard since I just bought a whole new speaker system. I don't know what specs you would really need to help me out, but the speaker system is 5.1. I do however have a 7.1 headset.

Motherboard: Z170-P
Budget: 100$ (Flexible)

Don't know much on soundcards or what will work for my PC, help me out please?

Could list what your speaker system is to warrant an actual soundcard. Headsets are virtual surround sound so not really the same thing.

Ah, yea those won't require the use of a sound card. The ALC887 codec on the board is more than enough for these.
