you seen the new socketf opteron 2000 and 8000 series whats the difference between these and the old opterons

I expect these sockets will support quad core and beyond when it comes out

as far as i know the key difference is it's an LGA socket (Land Grid Array) similar to socket 775. the Opteron itself is unchanged so far aside from being modified for the new socket.

not sure how this ended up in troubleshooting

moved to building, buying for high performance
