a 5770 is still a good card, but where are you buying from that a it costs $200?

Well I had that number in my head for some reason, but I just checked on newegg and it's up for like $170

maybe you have the 5770 confused with the 5850.

lol not at all, although I was looking at the 5850 and I'm thinking that for a bit over $100 more it's probly worth it for the performance increase

or this other option, which is in between those ^ two cards in both price and performance.

yeah, and apparently 2 4890s in Xfire is about equivalent to one 5870 (although less efficient) but I think I'll go with one of the 5 series since they'll probly have more staying power in the long run. I would love love love to get a 5870 but that $400+ is a lotta dough....

yea, i just suggested it to give you another option.

in reality, there is also a 5830, which is the 5xxx series card that fills the gap between a 5770 and 5850, but i personally won't be recommending it yet. maybe when it comes down in price, but right now, for $250 you get a card that's slower than a last gen 4890 and as you can see from my link, a 4890 can be had for $50 less.

so IMO, you should get a 5770 or spend more on a 5850.
