Default new PC for hyper-v

Hi ,

currently i need to build a new pc for very specific function
i am using it to testing new software and stuff

what i need in my system
MS hyper-v compatible ( x64 + vt )
i dont care about the vga ( i have an old nvidia 7300gs card that will do i hope its compatible )
a lot of ram i heard about 1chip =4G sooo if that true 16G or 32G would be greate

good MB to support future growth

Case /HD and all other stuff i got already from my old system

Well you're good to go for VM on just about any current day CPU, especially the i7s.

Do you think you're going to need that much RAM? The amount of RAM you need is going to depend on how many VMs you're running and how much system resources youre going to want to allocate to em. A socket 775 rig would do you just fine, but you want the option of future growth.

Future growth and a $900 budget. Already have a video card, case, and HDD. - GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops - OCZ Platinum 12GB (6 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

Back on being mobile - ASUS G551- 15.3" 1080p - Core i7 4710HQ - GTX 860M - 16GB DDR3 1600 - 512GB Samsung 850 Pro - Steam ID: TheOtis

2 sets of this, for 8GB: - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Phenom II 940 + 790GX board - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

the board has an onboard GPU, and supports 16GB DDR2 RAM. The CPU has the AMD Hyper-V extension.

Total cost = $371.96
259.98 + (2 x 54.99)

alternatively, you could get a dual CPU system, with a tonne of RAM slots: - Open Box: ASUS KFSN4-DRE bulk Dual 1207(F) NVIDIA nForce4 Professional 2200 SSI EEB 3.61 Dual AMD Opteron Server Motherboard

2000 series Opterons are needed for dual socket F systems: - AMD Opteron 2376 Shanghai 2.3GHz 45nm Socket F 75W Quad-Core Server Processor - Processors - Servers

4 x (2 x 2GB) = 16GB - Patriot Viper 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
$26.99 each after $25 mail-in rebate
You can easily expand your RAM on that board, too. It has 16 slots, and a 64GB limit.

cost = $834 before rebates, or $734 after rebates
