Default UPDATED: New PC Compatability Check.

NOTE: Please scroll down for updated list. Changes in Processor, RAM, and PSU choices. All comments welcome! Thanks!

Hello!

Father and I are building identical PC's but he wants me to put the parts in order. Just making sure everything here should work. With a few questions of course!

Case:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER HAF 922 BLUE RC-922M-KWN2-GP Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Side window
Motherboard:
Newegg.com - ASUS P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Processor:
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600 Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623I72600
RAM:
Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL
Graphics Card:

Hard Drive:
Newegg.com - Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
CD/DVD:
Newegg.com - ASUS 24X DVD Burner 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B3LT LightScribe Support - CD / DVD Burners
Power Supply:
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Hybrid RS-850-SPHA-D3 850W Intel ATX 12V V2.3 & SSI EPS 12V V2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

From what I can tell I have matched up all the parts so that the will fit. The hard part for me is connecting them all. Will the power supply come with all the cables I need?

Total: $1535.91 (without OS)

everything will work together, what do you plan to use the pc for?

if its for mainly gaming id go with the i5-2500k and unless you plan to crossfire id get a 750w psu save some money. get 1600mhz ram over 1333 and 16gb is super over kill. shoot for 8gb and with the saved money go after a SSD

Dad doesnt want a SSD. Bummer. But what do you mean "crossfire"? And I chose the 850w psu because its made by Cooler Master and this case supports their largest dimensional psu. Ill look into a smaller one. But if you could emphasize on the change in CPU and what "crossfire" means.

Thanks!

P.S. - I figured out crossfire is the ATI term for SLI which is Nvidia. Running only one card per computer so no dual cards. But why drop the CPU down?
P.P.S. - I take it all of your changes were for money savers. Won't have time to look in detail right now, will check later. Looking forward to your responses.

Crossfire-amd SLI-nvidia (sorry ment SLI in what i first wrote) is to run 2 or 3 cards in tandem witch takes a PSU with more watts logically. unless you are planing to SLI, a 850w psu is more then needed for just one card and as far as the psu fitting 99% of them will fit in the haf 922

EDIT- money saving yes and youll realy lose 0 performance for gaming, and as for the CPUs the i5-2500(k) vs the i7-2600(k). is that the i7 has Hyper-Threading and theres bench marking some where that shows that Hyper-Threading can hurt some games performance. BUT im not sure if you could see it real world your realy gaining nothing for the 100 dollar price hike and as for the K verson and non K verson the K just means it has a unlocked multiplier(easier overclocking) i myself would take the money saved on a cpu/psu and ram and put it towards a gtx 580. but if you deadset on the i7 its still a very very good cpu

now that you picked a K model cpu im guessing you might wanna overclock and if so id pick up a aftermarket cpu cooler like

Newegg.com - hyper 212

and if your planing to buy this in the next few days id go with a corsair PSU there one of the top brands and newegg is having a good sale on them right now Newegg.com - CorsairPSU0112
