New PC build

Hey guys, I've been out of the computer game for a while and I have fallen behind in the new technology. I am looking to build a gaming/productivity pc for by brother for under $1200 that would also be very future proof. I also expect him to do some slight overclocking but nuthing too risky. Through searching New Egg, I have come up with this build:

After shipping and tax it comes out to $1218. So what do you guys think? I am mainly concerned that there will be hardware match ups that will not maximize the performance of the system. Like system bottle necks, or overkill hardware. Thanks for your help.

instead of the CM PSU, grab the Corsair TX-750 (its the same price and much better quality)... ditch the extra SATA cable (18" is overkill and the mobo will come with everything you need because its retail) and spend that $3 upgrading that cooler from the ACF7 to the Sunbeam Core Contact Cooler... and are you seriously getting a PS/2 keyboard and mouse???? USB's the new thing! lol! also, if you wanna do some serious OCing, that board won't serve you too well (i mean, its not bad, but there's many that will go better)

the price seems a bit inordinate for that build... you should be able to build a good Core i7 system for around 1200 bucks... but i spose if you have to get the OS, keyboard/mouse, case optical drive, etc it adds up a bit... but overall, looks like a fairly nice build

also, you should note that the q9400 won't benchmark quite as well as other yorkies because its only got 6MiB of L2, but it'll do just about everything else just as well
