I would go with 8 gigs if you cant find yours, These are good ram with good timing and 1600 for speed, System looks pretty good and I built a system with a similar MSI MB not too long ago and it's option filled, Looked around and didn't see much with the same amount of slots and options for the same price, Slightly more in price. This is the ram in 8 gigs 2x4 gig sticks.

Yea I would go for 8GB for the office.

The i3 is good but you could also get the Pentium G3258 instead.

If your looking to cut costs for an office set up, then an AMD set up should work o.k. for you.
They are usually cheaper than the Intel set ups

Not unless he goes for a slow dual core APU. Then Pentium is the better bet as the board for either platform can be had for about 50 bucks.

He can get a quad core A8 chip for about the same price as that Pent chip today.
AMD A8-5600K Trinity 3.6GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU - Newegg.com
With Promo Code: EMCWWWF26
Plus the motherboard is about half the price
ASRock FM2A58M-VG3+ R2.0 Socket FM2+ 95W / FM2 100W AMD A58 (Bolton D2) Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Newegg.com
For a micro office pc...4 gigs memory should be O.K. too

The G3258 goes on sale with combos with motherboards fairly often I've seen too - can get the CPU + an H81 board for <$100.

Getting them both on sale for $100. would be a very good value, can't pass on that.
I only suggested the AMD A8 because it's on sale. Both chips are both rated very close for getting the job done, except the A8 has 2 more cores for the same price

That's like saying an i3 has HT over the Pentium. APUs are modules too.
