Default New Laptop Core2Duo

Got a new laptop today, how good is the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5200 processor compared to ...... say amd athlon x2 4800+.

From what i understand (I could be wrong), its difficult to compare a notebook cpu to a desktop cpu. But maybe thats just because ive never really experimented with laptops. ever. Although my school did get like 15 notebooks this year with intel core duo cpu's. But basically i have no idea.
