Default new graphics card?

Which graphics card should i get trying to upgrade from a Radeon 3870 my price range is 300$ max and i heard that geforce is better than ati is that true>.>

Is it true? Depends on which models you are comparing. ATI is currently the fastest.

With $300 to burn, I would recommend the 5850:

It outperforms the GTX 465 which is the closest thing in your budget on the Nvidia side.

nope.

for $300, an hd 5850 is a pretty straight forward choice.

what psu do you have though? if it isn't strong enough, you might have to replace that too.

o i forgot the slots i have are

1 x PCI Express x16 slot (also runs in x8 mode)
1 x PCI Express x1 slot
2 x PCI slots

o.0 lol shud i get a new mobo i can use the ati one but not the geforce one i think unless im wrong lol

as long as your mobo has a x16 slot, it doesn't matter if you buy an ati or nvidia card, it will run either.
