possible if you go with an Am2 build and re-use everything, then when you get some more cash you can easily upgrade to AM2+

The X1950XT is the best AGP card available.

If you can, look and see if you cant find an old 7800GS in AGP from someone. If not the 7600GT is not much faster than your old card...
