Default New gaming pc

What do you think about these components for new gaming rig? I will build PC myself and install newest BIOS for MotherBoard & SSD BIOS & DVDRW & everything else. Test RAM with memtest, reconfigure BIOS and overclock CPU to 3.6-4GHz. Install Windows 7 64bit and after that install newest drivers for all components.

I know very little about hardware... however - and please feel free to challange me on this - isn't the Intel Desktop Board DX58SO (Intel X58 Extreme DX58SO motherboard review) better than the Asus Rampage III and cheaper too?

Uhm, no?

Intel have 4 RAM, no SATA3, no "Asus" OC options and all other unique stuff that Extreme has.
And I dont like the desing of it.
