Wait till march to get Nvidia's new 7900 card if you want to spend upwards of $600 on a video card. It should kill any of the current cards many times over.
Or wait until March and buy a 7800GTX for 100 dollars cheaper than what it's going for now. No point in getting top of the line hardware when last generation stuff works great.
