I am planning my first build and I have chosen these specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX55 San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor

Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD

Graphics Card: Leadtek WinFast PX7800GTX Geforce 7800GTX 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card

Memory: OCZ Titanium 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System

HD: (2x) Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

Case: Thermaltake Kandalf VA9000SWA Silver Chassis: 1.0mm Aluminum, Front Bezel: Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case

CD/DVD: PLEXTOR Black SATA DVD Burner Model PX-712SA/SW-BL

PSU: Thermaltake Silent Pure Power W0049 RUD ATX12V/ EPS12V 680W Power Supply

My one problem with these specs is that it is a few hundred dollars too expensive and I am not sure what to cut down on because I have done a lot of research and I really like these specs. Please give any suggestions or tell me of any problems in my specs.

Thanks
Max

The first thing I notice is leadtek on the video card. I would go with evga if the option is available.

Not really understanding the dual raptors, why not have a strictly storage hd as secondary?

Personal opinion is unless you have a lot of money, why go with fx-55? It's pretty clear that in the near future multi threaded software will rule the cou(sp?). Sure FX is at the top right now but they have mutli proces supporting software coming out as soon as early october(FEAR). Plus it multi tasks like lightning and still outdo most singlecored processers on single threaded tasks.
