I'm just saying the 4870x2 consumes a good bit of power, compared with other video cards. Trust me, a 650w power supply can handle it though. They come with decent coolers and probably idle around 60-65 C and maybe 70-80 C on load. You're able to control the fan speed, so it depends.

For overclocking, I'm pretty sure the Biostar would be better.

I concur. You are about to drop $500 on a new monitor, but won't "splurge" on an i7 build. Sounds to me like you are trying to cut costs in the wrong areas.

Dude, 7 is a beta. You can't use it as a primary, you'll have too many issues. Get Home Premium.

And I still say an i7 build would be kickin', but whatever floats your boat.

Based off of what i have above, what would I need to switch out to have an i7 build?
Keep in mind I already have the RAM and CPU Cooler. Basically what I want you to do is, well if you can, which I would greatly appreciate, is if can you update my list reflecting an i7 build?

if you already have the ram, core 2 quad build will do you just fine

core i7 does not improve over core 2 quad very much in gaming, it's the other areas that it really shows it's fangs

I think I posted first comment before you edited that you already had ram

also I'd throw in the retention brackplate for your cpu cooler, I hear it greatly improves the cooler's capabilities

if you really wanted to (and don't mind the hassle of returning your ram), all you gotta do is swap out core 2 quad q9550 to core i7 920
motherboard to something like a asus pt6 and a triple channel ddr3 ram kit

Would the pt6 be a better overclocker than the biostar p45? If so, can you link me to the one with the most bang for your buck?

So how would I go about returning my RAM? [Purchased it from Newegg]

Also, can you link me to the brackplate, good overclocking triple channel ram, and core i7 920?

If you're willing to spend the money, then go for it.

Newegg.com - ASUS P6T LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

You already have the cooler and you'll need this bracket:
Newegg.com - XIGMATEK ACK-I7361 CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Alright, sounds good then. I think I'll be getting an i7 build. Now with that bundle, is that ram really good at overclocking? And will you guys be able to help me overclock? I read the guides on here. Their a bit confusing but I kinda have an idea of how to do it, but would rather have some help for my first time doing it.

That ram should be pretty good at overclocking. I've seen those reach 1800mhz, I'm not too familiar with i7 overclocking. But when the time comes, I'm sure someone will help you out.
