don't forget the 64 bit games will be comming out after Vista 64 bit hits shelves. Microsoft is putting a lot of time into this OS unlike XP64.

will the new card be compatible with old models like the 7800Gt and such? I wouldn't mind medium graphics with physics simulation....

The PPU card fits into a PCI Slot on your mobo. Your videocard has no effect on how the PPU Works. The PPU just takes care of the physics of the game (which opens up alot of doors) and lets your graphics card and CPU do the rest

Yes a PPU is a regular PCI slot device and it actually looks like an old FX5500. It does what a sound card does vs onboard audio but with physics for a video card. It's all over the net.

All I know is that if they make a castle sim with super-realistic structure damage and physics (Stronghold 3?) and needs a PPU I will go buy one once I get the money. That castle physics demo really got me thinking of the possibilities.

the 6800 series is not dead at all. when testing the unreal3 engine, they have used 6800 Ultra's. they ran it fine.

Thank you, and that just goes to show that if the 6800 series isn't dead, then the 7800 series must be pretty freakin great.

FEAR isn't a measure of things to come numbnuts. How can a crappily designed game like that be the future of gaming?

Like I said; 50FPS, Call of Duty 2, Maxed out, 1280x1024, 7800GT.
