Default new computer

hey.. i posted new comp specs quite some time ago for my first build but things got busy in life so i didnt have time. now i am going to make a 2nd attempt at my first build.

i'm looking to spend between 800 and 900 dollars. i'm a little confused what CD rom drive i should get.. i'd like to save money where possible. i'm also not sure if i should get a 6800GS or 7600GT.. everyone says the 6800GS is great and i dont really know anyone with the 7600GT, but its like 20 bucks cheaper.
i will be using the comp for some gaming, btw.

amd 3700+ sd

1gb corsair valueselect

Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 w/ nforce4

antec 500w

seagate 250gb sata 3.0gb/s

gfx card
6800GS or 7600GT?

coolermaster (I heard good things about this from a friend... says its cheap and he never has any temp problems - good way to save money)

cd rom

CAn someone also check the compatibility of all this

well I would consider going with socket AM2 as it's newer and supports DDR2 ram.

The socket AM2 3800+ is a great choice

I prefer the coolermaster 530. Just a personal thing. Get an Enermax Liberty or Antec Truepower PSU.
2.4 GHz Pentium 4
Harman/Kardon 2.1
256 MB RAM
Dell 1800FP
GeForce FX 5200
CD Burner and CD Reader!

Get the 3800+ instead

7600GT is faster

You can get Corsair XMS for the same price w/ rebate.

Get the 7600GT. The price makes it a steal.

this is what i got when i searched for the 7600GT.. but i dunno which one to pick:
(i'm thinking the evga cuz its cheapest after the rebate, XFX having the 2nd cheapest)

if i get an AM2 mobo, here's what im looking at:
MOBO: (not sure which - im looking for a good price and i dont need SLI)

I should probably use DDR2 if im gonna get AM2 mobo, so here are the 2 cheapest ones, which should i pick?:

IS 500W good?

same HD and case as above (couldnt find the coolermaster 530)
