Default new comp. and something thats GREAT for a 19" monitor

hello, i was wondering what kind of motherboard is good out there right now if SLI is not necessary? also, whiich video card shud i get? for gaming. max settings etc.

on a 19 inch monitor? id say a 512mb 8800gt. also, what processor do you have? what socket? 775?

at the moment, q6600, but missing a motherboard. the motherboard dont need to be fancy or anything. good for OC and no SLI. and preferably future proof in RAM

for the res on a 19" you can probably get away with an 8800GT 256MB and save $50... depends how much you're looking to spend. 3870 X2 is only 3 days away!

256mb is good up to 1680x1050 res.

The Radeon 3690 sounds interesting, the RV670 GPU, but on a 128bit bus. According to rumour, it will retail for about $110, so its definately worth thinking about.

if you plan something like Crysis, the extra 256mb RAM is useful in benchmarks

Only at higher res, at 1280x1024 it doesnt come into play.
