new buy for mid gamer

Stopped in and talked to a local place that has "fixed" my current crappy Vista HP several times in the last two years about building a computer for me. He insisted on using his own parts and then will warranty it for 3 years. HE says ASUS is the only mobo that he would use on any higher level gaming type system. Hmm... wonder if that because it is the most markup for him? I gave him my email and asked if he would send me a bid using a ATI 5770 card, 640 GB western digital "black" harddrive, 4 gb DDR3 memory, and a I5 intel or a AMD Phenom of comparable speed. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with- MY guess is over 2K.
