digital is ones and zeros with an an end number which is a checksum this gives you the sum of all previous data so that the signal can self repair as there is one variable the information is either a 1 or a 0.

Analogue is like a sound wave it is a curve, the problem comes from degradation down the cable causes little blips in the curve which can not be repaired the data is just lost because there are so many possible variables the information cannot self-repair.

When working with short distances though the difference is negligible as degradation is low.It is perverse though how most tv's with a pc input have vga connection as it is more likely for the pc to be further away from a tv then a monitor on a desk
