Okay so here is my final list that I'm about to buy. Did a little searching for combo deals on the parts and actually managed to take off 50 bucks for finding the same stuff bundled together. And instead of the 965 processor i'm getting the 980 for less money bundled with the mobo! And better memory bundled with the 550 ti. Anddd 18 $ off just for finding the same psu and case combo. Man, they make you work to get those deals lol.
Grand total of 756 now with better parts. lol
Nice build, but you could have gave your system some more juice than that
Newegg.com - ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Newegg.com - AMD FX-4170 Zambezi 4.2GHz (4.3GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor FD4170FRGUBOX
Yes, both are a tad bit over 220.00 but think of it like this, you don't need to pay shipping on both right ?
The fx-core lineup is getting bad rep by some people, but amd did quite well between some quads in hexa-cores they released, the speed is abit too much, but I'm sure you like muscle car noises right ?
Good luck to you.
The 2500k beats out all of the FX 4 cores and some of the 8 cores in benchmarks. For gaming, the 2500k is the best "bang for your buck" CPU out there right now.
