Default New AMD cpu

Does anyone know what socket the AMD k8l processors are going to be? just wondering if i can buy a cheaper AM2 and be able to upgrade to the new cpu later.

I think they are coming out on Socket F first then maybe on AM2 but I'm not sure.

They should be out spring 07.

Socket F is going to be for servers. AM2 is projected to be the socket K8L will use.

you can;t always trust wikipedia, but im %99.999999.... sure it will be on socket AM2.

to prove that you can't always trust wikipedia, i changed the K8L from being on socket AM2 to Socket 939, but by the time anyone gets to read it someone will have probably changed it.

Lol, I know you can't trust wiki I've made that mistake a few times. They are generally right though, and it's just a little extra nudge that shows K8L will be on AM2.

One of the reasons they did introduce sAM2 is because it was future proofing for their new artecture.
