so overall you think its worth the 30-40$ to go from the amd to the intel?

also is this combo Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

better than say this case / psu combo =

Newegg.com - NZXT M59 - 001BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

also one question on the motherboards in the images I cant see how many sata cables are included in the mobo's box. would it be safe to say theres enough for me to go straight oem on my dvd drive and hdd

look for a board/cpu combo.

i5's are okay, but AMD processors are very/easily overclockable. You'll be using it more for gaming, so you'll benefit more from higher clock speeds than you will with a 2.66 i5, which is better with applications.

stick with gigabyte boards...or asus. best boards IMO.

Yeah I think im going to go with the AMD combo. Because of the mobo with SLI @ 2 16x slots.

Going for the 965 BE and ASUS Newegg.com - ASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

looks good.

now just letting you know...you don't necessarily need a black edition because it has a higher clock speed. If you're confident enough to learn how to overclock, you can choose a lower clocked phenom, and save money. Then, just buy a descent CPU cooler and overclock it to (most likely) the clock of a 965 BE, possibly even higher. That's always an option. The OEM phenom II X4 is only $117. Plus it's fun to learn more custom building techniques (well, at least for me since I'm a geek :D ). I bought a phenom X6, the 2.8GHz one, and overclocked it to ~4.2GHz. but of course I have watercooling, so that's why i can OC so high, even higher I'm sure.

at stock speeds, the (2.66ghz) i5 750 will be faster than a 3.4ghz x4 965 overall. and i5's are very OCable too, you can hit 4ghz+ on them with a good cooler.

really? 4ghz+ with an aircooler? doubt that...i've never seen anything over 4 with just a good cpu fan on an i5. even then, AMD is known for having the more clockable processors.

and sorry to break it to you, but my 4.4 ghz phenom plays better in games than my 3.2 ghz i5, and they both use 5770s.
