Default New 28" LCD. Questions

I am thinking about buying the 28" LCD monitor in the link below. My question is will my current setup perform well with it.

I mainly just play games so fps is important to me. Right now I play at 1280x1024 res. Will increasing this dramatically reduce my fps? Will increasing res actually perform better and utilized my crossfire setup better?

Any help would be appreciated...

Your 4870's will destroy that resolution. The 1280 x 1024 is probably holding them back. At 1920 x 1200 the 4870's will be utilized fully.

So let me ask this question.. In 3dmark06 the default res is I think 1024x768. Would it be fair to assume that if I had the res higher I would score better.. Right now I am getting a score around 20000 or so...
