Ok here's what I was thinking, constructive thoughts please =D

ASUS A8N-SLI PCI-Express Mainboard - ATX
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+ with HT Tech.
2048 DDR SDRAM @ 400MHZ
250GB HD Serial ATA, 7200rpm 16MB Buffer
256MB NVidia 7900GT
CreativeLabs Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS
SONY 16x Dual Layer DVD-Re-Writable +R/-R/RW

Then of course there will be external components, monitor, keyboard, blah blah blah.

The reason I chose the 7900GT in place of 2x 7600GT or a 7900GTX is because it seems the best value for money, likewise with choosing the processor.

Comments please =D

are you going to OC?, if so then get an opteron 165, or a x2 3800, dont get the 4200 its a waste cos its not that much faster and has the same cache, or upgrade to the 4400, as its got better cache.....whats you budget anyways?

Don't get the 4200, rather go with the 4400 if you're not going to OC. The 7900GT is a very good choice. Also, drop the soundcard, and upgrade the HDD with the money you save. The onboard sound is more than enough! Otherwise that is one kicka$$ system!
