Default Need recommendation for good PSU

Hello All, currently using a 450watt Rosewill PSU and I'd like to get something more solid and capable of supporting SLI when I'm ready for it. I'm trying to stay under $100 and I have no clue where to begin. The system specs are in my sig...

I typically buy from NewEgg, so if you know of something there, even better

Thanks!

Hi Raphael Argus, Antec makes a very good PSU. I have the 430watt True Power 2.0. When I build my new PC in a week, I will be buying the 550watt TP 2.0. They are SLI certified and has the option the control your fan speeds depending on the load/draw put on the PSU.

These Antecs 550watt True Power 2.0's are the same except....

This one has only 1 fan for $89.99

This one has 2 fans for $93.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103932

This one has 1 fan and a fan control panel for $99.99

The fist PSU on the list is the best rated 501-600 watt PSU at Newegg, But all 3 on the list have the same insides with dual 19amps at 12volt rails or 38amps at 12volts(that's good) The biggest complaint is they have to many wires and they are too long, But that's really a good thing, I cut all the extra wires off of my 430watt, No big deal

Good luck

i dont think you can buy this from newegg but im sure there will be another place that will have it at a similliar price if not cheaper.

Yea, Newegg didn't do the best job in differentiating between similar models and brands up until recently

Have had both single fan and double fans, I have two rigs with antecs in em now. I would get one with the singel fan, much quieter.

Awesome, I'll go with the first one. ESPECIALLY if it's quieter. My PC already sounds like a freakin hair dryer or something. Reviews on that PSU sound fantastic, seems like you can't go wrong

I don't think the long wires will be an issue for me either. I left my top 5 1/4 drive bay open and threw my DVD-rw in the second bay so I should have plenty of room to stuff all those extra cables away.

Thanks all!
