Just out of curiousity, what is the need to partition? Do you want to keep data separate from OS? Typically, I like to suggest another hard drive as apposed to partitions, but if that's not an option then you can just partition it when you install the OS.
To do so, just delete any existing partitions when you are at the disk selection screen during the OS installation. Then you create a new partition of the desired size. Once that partition is created you can create another and another if you need. After they are created then just select the partition you want the OS installed to and format it.
