need help with my first build

this is the first time attempting to build my own computer... but im having some trouble... i bought the antec P180 case and the antec phantom 500 power supply... and im having a hell of a time getting the PSU to fit in the space provided... can anyone offer some suggestions/advice/experiences or anecdotes in order to assist me please?

I think in antec's the psu must be installed upside down.. may be aspire though.

its not really that... its the length of it... the wires are pretty much pressed up against one of the fans... and although i dont know a whole lot... i know thats not good...
