Need Help For First Time Builder

Hey everybody. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and help me out here.

This is my first time building a PC, and I need suggestions for parts. I only need the computer itself; I already have a monitor (1080p HD), keyboard and mouse. My intent for this PC is to not only game on high settings (with steady ~60FPS on games such as a heavily modded Skyrim, Battlefield 4 (I know, I know, specs not yet released to public), Witcher 2, and other graphically demanding titles) but to record these games with FRAPS and even live stream them at times. I will also need to do video editing for Let's Play videos and game reviews.

My budget is CND $1,100-1,400. I likely want to go with an Intel system. Hopefully, that is enough to suffice for this build, but if not, I may have to make some compromises. If there are any questions I've neglected to answer, please reply and ask!

Thanks again,
- Thorson

EDIT: @PP Mguire Noted, though I'd prefer a quad-core processor on top of a good graphics card (ie Newegg.ca - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K).

Now I need a bit of help for the rest of the PC (motherboard especially, I haven't got the slightest clue in that field). Links to Newegg (or other respectable sites) are more than welcome (and even encouraged).

For 1000-1200 cnd you will either have a great video card for maxing the games (specifically Witcher 2 in that list) or a quad core. In other words, i3 3220 rig with a 670 or 660ti with an i5 3330. The i3 3220 will do great for the gaming part of it but will fall slightly behind 4 real cores on the editing side.

Well, a good balance would be the 3330, a B75 motherboard, a 660ti, and then you have more money to work in other areas like HDD/SSD and a quality PSU.

If you absolutely want the 3570k and will actually OC later on, then you have this setup.

CPU:
Newegg.ca - Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K

PSU:
Newegg.ca - SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

For recording those games at full resolution you will need more GPU power and an SSD. Better rounded rig would be i5 3330, B75 motherboard, 120GB SSD, then make the GPU a 670.

You don't need 850w for 2 parts that take a small amount of power. The money is seriously better spent on an SSD.

I record Skyrim with a lot of modifications on my own rig and record straight to RAMDisk and still have FPS problems. BF3 not so much, but if you want to record Witcher 2 Enhanced you're going to have serious FPS issues.

I suppose the 850w PSU is kinda overkill, but I'm looking for a decently long lasting PC, and I'm not sure if the 500w will cut it.

As for your comment on recording, are you talking about recording with everything on ultra/1080p? Because I think that if I were to record, I'd settle for medium-high settings in 720p.

EDIT:
I'm tempted to slap on a 680 (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130768) instead but I'm not sure if that's a very smart idea.

If you don't plan on going dual cards the 550w is sufficient for any single card solution minus dual GPU. Even then, if you went with the X 650 Gold you would be able to use a 690. Gold and Platinum rated PSUs will last a good long time, as most Seasonic and other high quality PSUs will too. Only go bigger if you want to stack GPUs.

Yea. I was under the impression you want to record full screen (1080p) with the games at high and ultra.

The 680 would be a good choice. You just have to hope the HDD as a medium is up to the task of long records at high sustained rate of speed. My 1TB Samsung wasn't and it's an F3.

I've opted out for the more affordable AMD Radeon 7950 (Newegg.ca - SAPPHIRE 100352-2L Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card) in the place of the GTX 680 (I understand that the radeon is a "lesser" card on almost every single level). With the 680 (as much as I want that card), the price would be out of my intended budget by a good 200 dollars. With the AMD card on the other hand, I would be breaking my budget just barely, and I am absolutely fine with that.
