Hello all,

I am in the market to buy a new gaming desktop. I tried building once, and I messed it up.

BUDGET: 1200k or less

GAMES: BF2, WoW, Oblivian

I would appreciate any help you could give to a n00b like me.

Thanks,

badmojo

k which parts do u already have when you tried building one but you screwed up? Name them all and we'll tell you which ones to replace and stuff like that.

Im sorry, let me rephrase. I messed up my old computer, but someone fixed it...that was like 3 years ago. Now I am looking for a whole new rig.

Sorry for the confusion :D

oh ok......here is something to get you started...

DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D about $120
AMD X2 3800+ somwhere around $300
eVGA 7900 GT $300
OCZ Valueram 2X1gb dual channel $160
Logitech G5 Mouse
Saitek Eclipse Both should add up to about $70

thats pretty good.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I am more interested in buying a complete system. Your repsonce though encourages to try to build my own again.

I have looked at dell, cyberpowerpc, alienware, velocitymicro.

I would also shy away from Alienware. You are only really buying the name. If you want to buy a prebuilt system try Puget Systems Or Falcon NW. Both have great Tech Support and are pretty patient when it comes to new buyers.

your better off building , as youll get much longer warranty & higher quality parts & know exactly what parts your getting & its cheaper & cuz of all those reasons youll get the best bang for the $
