get the MSI K8N NEO4-F mobo sense you arent OCing

the opteron is dual core and way cheaper then the 4400+ and they both have 2MB cache.

That's not overclocking RAM. It's more expensive, because it is 2gb, not one, and it has 2-3-2-5 timings at 2.6v.

if you are on a budget, don't get the Creative X-Fi. use the onboard sound on the DFI or MSI board.

and yeah the MSI K8N Neo4-F is great for the money. it's the second best socket 939 PCI-E board to the DFI, but is cheaper.

and if you have enough money, get the 7800 GTX instead of the GT. it has 4 extra pipelines (GT has 20, GTX has 24)
they are basically paths which each pixel is processed. the more pipelines it has, the more pixels the card can process at one time.

Ok, here is a new build for you:

Case - Lian Li PC-7B Plus - $89:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112212

Motherboard - DFI nF4 SLI Infinity - $109:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136164

CPU - AMD Dual Core Opteron 170 - $396.78:
http://newsite.pagecomputers.com/sto...ct%5Fid=866074

Video card - eVGA Geforce 7800GTX 256MB - $469:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130254

Sound card - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic - $117.50:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102188

RAM - G.SKILL Value 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM - $175:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231039

Hard drive - Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB - $130.50:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701

Optical drive - LITE-ON Black 2M Cache IDE CD/DVD Burner - $39.98:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106988

Power supply - Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 - $89.99:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931

Total cost - $1616.75

This leaves you an extra $200 for the monitor, keyboard and mouse, I recommend you get the ones I listed earlier. Also, I would hurry and get the CPU, there is only a limited stock. If the price is STILL to much, just get the OEM Audigy2 ZS sound card instead, but I highly recommend that if you can afford it, get the X-fi XtremeMusic.
