Need to find a monitor

Well i want to buy a new monitor. I want to get a 24 inch for gaming and watching movies. I found this one Newegg.com - Acer AL2416WBsd Silver 24" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 1000:1 - Retail,
but i dont really know how to check if a monitor is good or not. So what do you think? Do you guys have any other suggestions?

dang the price of 24"s have dropped alot. i would take that samsung over the ace, but if the $80 difference and $20 rebate are a hassel then yeah that acer looks like it'd do just fine.

dang.... large sized monitors have really dropped in price lately...... i remember when you had to dish out over 1 thousand dollars for one....
