Ok. I need to build a computer for about $1300. I came up with the following specs:

$325 - Amd Opteron 165 Dual Core (I want to keep this)
$125 - Dfi Lanparty UT Ultra-D mobo (I need a good ocing board)
$160 - Evga 6800gs (Will be gaming)
$120 - Antec P180 Case (I am in love and do not wish to part)
$100 - G.Skill Extreme Series 1gb PC3200 Ram (Again, will be overcllocking)
$125 - Western Digital Caviar SE16 320gb 16mb cache(!) (Best 16mb cache buy)
$270 - Hyundai 19" 8ms lcd (I currently have a curve-tube crt)
$30 - Turtle Beach Riviera 5.1 sound card (Do I need this or does mobo have good sound?)
$60 - Logitech X-530 70 Watts 5.1 (I want good, cheap sound)
$20 - Rosewill RM1670W Wireless Laser Mouse (Seems like some thing cool to try... 1600dpi wireless with rechargeable dock)
$?? - I still need a power supply
Anyway, the computer currently comes out to be a $1409 shipped. I would like to bring it down below $1300. How could I do this? Remember, I still need a power suppy too.

Thanks for the help, Sevoma

actually the hyndai is a good monitor, its a 8bit panel. i would say get a seasonic 500w? not sure aobut the wattage something around there but thats just me since their psu's are really quiet while having at least 80% efficiency

Thanks for the psu suggestion.

So, anybody want to help me get this system cheaper?

you could just stick with onboard sound, thats not a very good soundcard so it might not be worth it. maybe 2.1 speakers? and a smaller hdd but thats probably all thats gona save u money without lowering performance

its a good card. isnt it better than the 6800? get a good OCZ Enermax or PC & C PSU.

You do the math.

Look at the benchmarks

Even though its SLI it gives you an idea.

Wow. I just looked at some other becnhmarks and the 7600gt is performing better. I didn't even consider it because of the 128bit, but now seeing its faster, I guess i'll have to drop the extra 20 dollars on it  . Thanks for pointing this gem out.
