Conroe still beat the AMD by 20% in FEAR and even gained ground in other situations.

Also consider this:
The Conroe in this test is NOT the XE. It is a $500 CPU.
Conroe is giving the AMD 134Mhz
An XE version is expected to be released at 3.33Ghz

The AMD was OC'd to 2.8Ghz since the FX-62 will be released by the time Conroe is out. Unless the new line of AMD chips significantly improve IPC Conroe will have a huge advantage, and with the current information out about AM2, IPC will not be significantly improved.

I know the AMD guys are squirming right now, but don't let your preference for a name brand blind you to the information that is right in front of you.
