Need build check for Music recording

As it says, I'm tryin to spec a bild to do music recording... Full 4 piece band and mics etc.

Most likely will be using cubase as the sofware.

So:

Either 2500k or 2600k.... Last build was a P4 3.2, and its still in use so longevity is a must.

So, anyone used cubase 6 or like software have an opinion?

I do. Professionally. So I use Mac and ProTools.
Someone from the other forum asking kind of the same thing so you may want to look at my post here.
I do not see the most important gear for home recording... the audio interface.
Do you already have one?

Hes using what ever comes with cubase 6... This isnt my ball game, but its a firewire type interface.... he has tonnes of pa's and such with mixer etc, so its just to go into the computer to actually record the tracks.

But he did order the above parts with a 2600k for years of use... Like i had posted, he used cubase le and a piv till the cubase interface blew a capacitor.
